Business Improvement District Voting

If your commercial property or business is located within the red line on the map below, you are eligible to have a say on the establishment of a Business Improvement District (BID) in Warkworth.

The process of voting in a BID establishment ballot is set out in the Auckland Council BID policy.  The ballot is based on the principle of ‘one entity – one vote’/‘one person – one vote’, an entity being a ratepayer and/or a business/occupier. That means, there is one vote for one ratepayer or business irrespective of how many properties or businesses you own within the proposed BID area.

Independent Election Services Ltd is running the ballot and voting is done by post or online using a dedicated URL and code.

ELIGIBLE VOTER LISTS

There are two lists of eligible voters:

  1. commercially rated property owners with the BID boundary
  2. businesses operating from commercial premises with the BID boundary

If you are elgibile, your property address and/or business will appear once on only one list. Please check that you have one business or property on a list. If you are not on a list and believe you should be please email Claire or Murray or complete the registration form below by 14 February.

Voting packs will be sent out from 16 February – please allow a few days for it to reach you. If you do not receive one or you didn’t register in time, please email Judith Ofsoske at Independent Election Services or call 09 973 5212.

There will be public meetings about the BID on 12, 19 and 26 February from 5:30pm in the Bridgehouse back bar. If you cannot make a meeting and would like more information, please read our booklet or speak to one of our committee members.
